Accountant

Roles and Responsibilities

• Financial Record Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledgers, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
• Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations by preparing and filing tax returns and financial reports.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
• Payroll Processing: Oversee payroll activities, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees and contractors.
• Auditing Support: Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and ensure financial transparency.
• Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero to streamline financial processes.
• Stakeholder Communication: Work closely with management to present financial insights and recommendations for business growth.

Qualifications and Skills

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 6 months of professional accounting experience, preferably in a corporate setting.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting financial reports to stakeholders.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in managing financial records and detecting discrepancies.
